The chapter details the Namgoong family's decision to place the Second Lord in charge of the Thunder Dragon Group, a notoriously difficult and unruly faction. Despite objections and their history of defiance, the Second Lord accepts the responsibility, viewing them as a means to an end and believing he can bring them to heel. The Thunder Dragon group themselves are unhappy about their new leader, planning to show the Second Lord what they're made of, however, they know he is no pushover and there may be more to him than they think.
The Second Lord is assigned to lead the unruly Thunder Dragon Group, much to the dismay of the group members who plan to assert their dominance. The Second Lord, however, sees them as a perfect tool and intends to whip them into shape.
