Synopsis

The chapter begins with a seemingly routine encounter with a group demanding to search some travelers, but escalates when one of the travelers refuses and threatens violence. This leads to a brutal attack by the envoy where many travelers are killed. A powerful figure emerges from the group, intimidating the remaining forces into fleeing, and dramatically changes the perceived power dynamics within the region, raising fear and awe in onlookers and establishing a new hierarchy.
