Synopsis

The chapter opens with Mu Jin being pressured to cut his hair as a sign of monastic commitment. He researches and debates the tradition, ultimately deciding to defy the norm by adopting an outlandish, mohawk hairstyle featuring a religious swastika, arguing it is ugly enough to remove any worldly vanity. The monks and even the Grandmaster are surprised by his audacity, but ultimately, some are influenced by his action. While initially disapproving, those in authority concede that his radical appearance does fulfill the core principle of cutting ties to worldly desires, leading to a comical acceptance of his non-traditional hairstyle and its impact on the others.
