Synopsis

A high-ranking official, the vice commander Everloch, has stolen a key to the barrier surrounding the Fissure, a place swarming with monsters. This prompts the Holy Knights to request the mercenary dragon slayer Dalen's assistance in retrieving the key and stopping Everloch. Dalen, in addition to his combat prowess, has the unique ability to inherit skills by absorbing the corpses of the dead, as seen when he recovers from a dragon battle and finds some extra abilities. Finally, Everloch is shown in conversation with a mysterious figure, revealing his motivations were related to escaping the Fissure, not malicious.
