Synopsis

The characters discuss the difference between magic and spells, learning that spells require a medium, which in this case is the enemy flag causing the fog. A legendary swordsman, Leonesis Oniak, and his five categorized sword techniques are introduced. The protagonist then trains to use the 'Concentrate on a Single Point' technique and vows to destroy the flag to dispel the fog, while his companions' teaching methods are criticized and they squabble amongst themselves.
