Synopsis

The chapter opens with a confrontation where a merchant is trying to take control of the protagonist's land due to unpaid debts. The protagonist, initially defiant and insightful, declares he'll repay the debt in full, leading to his butler revealing the history of the cursed household and the crushing pressure it places on him. In a desperate move to pay off the debt the protagonist announces his plan to sell a historical statue shocking the butler with the sudden decision.
