Synopsis

A battle between a powerful mage, who is suspected to be a new graduate from the Flame Tower, and a cultist is reported to the Imperial Army, revealing the mage to be of extraordinary power exceeding sth-circle level. This revelation causes alarm among the army, who deem him a potential threat. The army decides to deploy a powerful swordsman named Spandlum, also known as the Homicidal Maniac, to deal with the mage, who is shown reflecting on his father's death and his current mission before being ambushed by Spandlum.
