The chapter opens with citizens praising the King while disparaging his illegitimate son, the Shadow Prince, who is revealed to be a low-ranking apprentice healer. Despite his lack of skill, he is assigned to a royal banquet by his boss, the Chief Healer, under the pretense of gaining experience. The Shadow Prince faces past traumas and insecurities, as well as bullies from his past. He resolves to not run, driven by his desire to help patients, and discovers he can purchase skills with points, leading him to purchase a skill to deal with rude nobles.
The exiled Shadow Prince, now a low-ranked healer, is sent to a royal banquet despite his lack of skill and past mistreatment, motivated by a desire to prove himself and gain access to the healer qualification exam.
