Synopsis

The chapter depicts the start of a trial by combat between House Jestard and House Deventor to settle a dispute over copper mines. The new Lord of Jestard, initially getting beaten, is given advice and manages to copy a powerful sword technique. He surprises everyone, particularly his opponent, with his newfound moves, but he reveals his true motive: the fight is a distraction for a separate plan.
