Synopsis

Penelope's father, the Duke, gives her a magic amulet for protection during the upcoming hunting contest, a gift he says is common practice amongst nobles, and expresses concern for her political safety. Penelope, in turn, gifts a similar but cheaper amulet to her maid, Emily, showing appreciation and creating a meaningful bond, leading to increased reputation within the Eckart family. The chapter ends with a letter arriving from the royal palace, hinting at new developments.
