Synopsis

The protagonist is attacked in a forest with a mind-altering barrier projecting illusions, but he easily resists them due to his past experiences. The antagonists, who intended to observe his reactions to his fears, are forced into a direct confrontation. Simultaneously, other characters discuss the protagonist's exceptional talent with floating magic, how he's handling a dangerous fall, and they reveal the forest is a monster farm and this 'coming-of-age' ceremony is meant to test them with combat rather than illusions.
