Synopsis

Eugene, after being shown magic texts, seeks an item to aid his learning, ultimately negotiating with a mage for a week's use of the artifact Winnead, as well as a staff. However, the mage offers the Cape of Darkness instead, an incredibly rare and powerful artifact of space-time magic. The chapter also introduces the Lionhart family's internal structure, highlighting the Black Lion Knight Order that serves all Lionharts and the Senate which holds great power, even over the Patriarch. This sets the stage for Eugene's interactions with these powerful figures as he seeks to acquire the cape.
