Synopsis

The chapter opens with rumors spreading about a mysterious manor appearing near Dongting Lake, which causes a local magistrate, Hong Won-Chang, to investigate. Meanwhile, discussion reveals that the magistrate is stressed due to bandit activity led by Jang Baekson. Upon arrival at the manor, Hong Won-Chang confronts the manor's owner, Dan Woohyun, who claims he merely repaired an abandoned house. The chapter ends with the magistrate threatening Dan Woohyun, who swiftly and unexpectedly incapacitates his guards with seemingly supernatural speed.
