Injured and struggling, the protagonist uses a stealth technique and turbid elimination herbs to suppress his demonic energy and enter the Solitary Bamboo Grove. He discovers the corpses of powerful beasts, all seemingly killed by having their life force drained, and realizes a new source of immense power is emanating from the heart of the grove. He is then confronted by the Jackal, and it's revealed that his actions were predicted due to the lunar cycle. The chapter ends with the protagonist sensing a terrifying presence, similar to that of a past rival, as he reaches the source of the power.
The protagonist, weakened by a powerful presence, uses stealth techniques and herbs to reach the heart of a mysterious grove, where he discovers a scene of carnage and a terrifying new power source. He encounters the Jackal, possibly an enemy or rival.
