Synopsis

The chapter begins with warnings about a red-eyed wraith lurking near Lake Emera, emphasizing the danger of approaching the lake, especially during storms. Boris, despite these warnings, feels an unsettling sensation. Later, he practices sword fighting with his brother Yevgen, who appears playful. The chapter concludes with the return of Boris's exiled brother, Vlado, after years, who is greeted with hostility and a sense of foreboding from Boris, suggesting a coming conflict.
