Synopsis

The chapter begins with the protagonist losing a match, realizing his opponent used his own technique against him. After the fight, the opponent points out that the protagonist's driving force for strength is rooted in seeking the approval of his mentor. This leads to a reveal of the protagonist's deep-seated insecurities stemming from past abandonment and a desire to repay his mentor, the Abbot. The Abbot comforts him, asserting that his worth is not tied to his strength or being a successor.
