Synopsis

The chapter opens with a conversation with a cat-like merchant who reveals his reasons for trading in the tower despite being a challenger. The protagonist arrives at the temple where he's greeted by Karnil, a Fourth Rank Disciple, who explains he can meet the God of Verification by sacrificing faith or fate. The protagonist chooses to use his fate and is given a challenge - to defeat masters of a single weapon, which he cunningly sets up using insults as bait.
