Synopsis

The chapter details the origins of liches, explaining they are mages who pursued immortality by offering their souls to darkness, becoming undead beings. A powerful lich attacks the training grounds, killing the instructors and forcing the trainees to flee. One trainee, Lorena, chooses to stay behind to buy time for the others to escape, facing the lich with a blessed sword and a strategy to exploit its casting limitations. However, the lich reveals it can double-cast magic due to the number of skulls it possesses.
