Synopsis

The chapter begins with the group discussing the bandits they are pursuing, realizing they are not just simple peasants but are skilled and organized, possibly having hunters and barbarians among them. One of the mercenaries, Urich, lashes out at some of the soldiers for their lack of vigilance, leading to a confrontation that is diffused by his leader. A cleric then comforts them after the loss of one of their own, and addresses the question of what happens after death to a skeptic.
